Wild Nothing is one of my favourite current dreamy pop bands. Psychedelic artist Eric Shaw teamed up to create the video for the band's latest surprisingly funky song, "A Dancing Shell." Check out the video I think its cleverly made. In the video, humanoids made out of colorful geometric shapes walk along landscapes of squiggles and star-burst spirals. Really interesting colors, shapes and patterns, I have always found psychedelic footage a great modern representation of pop art.The song "A Dancing Shell" appears on the band's upcoming "Empty Estate" EP, which is out via Captured Tracks.
Wild Nothing is an American Indie Rock/Dream Pop band from Blacksburg, Virginia. They formed back in 2009 by Jack Tatum. Nathan Goodman(guitar), Jeff Haley(bass), Kevin Knight(keyboards), and Jeremiah Johnson(drums). They have brought out 2 albums "Gemini" 2010, and "Nocturne" 2012, which are superb and most original. Wild Nothing's first single, "Summer Holiday", was released on Captured Tracks in 2009, and was followed by "Cloudbusting". Their albums, EP'S, and singles have been well received critically, and have been dubbed "Best New Music" by 'Pitchfork Media'. "Empty Space" has been released this month, and is shaping up to be another successful EP, a further testament to the bands creative ability. In the last post, I introduced 'Tame Impala', who like this band lean towards a dreamy state of music. No doubt 'Wild Nothing' are different to the Australian band, but having said this, both of these bands nevertheless subscribe to an interesting type of musical theme.
